Blue Helium Concepts

Every once in a while, you meet a person who re-sparks an old interest you might have had or something that you enjoyed in the past. I had just this interaction when I met our new friend Brian through a mutual friend. Brian is the owner of a small, hyper-local branding and marketing firm in the Orlando area called Blue Helium Concepts. As you can see from our Shop Small page on the site, Andrew and I love to support small, local businesses and especially businesses run by friends of ours.

I spent some time with Brian building this site from basically the ground up…yeah, I had the ideas but wasn’t entirely sure how to best execute it which is where he came in. With his web design expertise, he was able to build this site to be exactly what we wanted. After other interactions with him, I could see that his company was the little engine that could and that he had the drive to make it happen.

Just like me, he worked from home but unlike me, he actually left his house and would frequent Starbucks or a local restaurant, Gator’s Dockside which is just a couple blocks from my house. He convinced me to take a break from working non-stop on the couch and meet him for lunch one day. From that point on, it became a several day a week thing. Let’s just say, it was never easy to get me out of the house on work days but working alongside someone outside of the house wasn’t that bad. We went on to partner with a local store, Lafayette & Rushford, to do some lifestyle photoshoots which got me back to doing something I used to really enjoy.

After several discussions back and forth between Brian, his fiancé, myself and Andrew, we decided it was time to make this partnership official: we invested in Blue Helium Concepts and I became a full partner in the company. You are probably asking yourself right now, “how the hell will have time for his “real” job, this site and daily involvement in a growing company?” The answer is, we’re going to figure it out 🙂 Don’t worry, several people have said that I might be a little crazy but the fact is that I am a little crazy but more importantly, I love a challenge and I love to watch my friend’s businesses grow. It’s always a good thing when you have a business partnership where you compliment each other’s strengths and weaknesses and that’s where Brian and I work well together.

By no means does this mean I am up and quitting my job to work full time but it never hurts to diversify your interests. I have a passion for business and watching small businesses grow so this might be some work, but it will also be fun for me. Be sure to check back here often to follow us on this new adventure as well as our Instagram pages here and here as well as the various other shenanigans we get into on the regular. Also, feel free to reach out to me should you ever need help with branding, social media marketing, online marketing and web design.

As a dear friend once said to me, “every day is an adventure” and this new venture will be no different!

I am consummate workaholic in need of a hobby (hence this site). I am recently married to an amazing man named Andrew who you will see pop up throughout the site and we live in a beautiful townhome that we purchased a couple of years ago in the Baldwin Park area of Orlando, right near downtown which is where we spend most of our time. I have an awesome family and many equally awesome friends who you will also see pop up periodically. I attended UCF where I studied Advertising and Public Relations. On the daily, I am a Territory Director for a Tallahassee and Atlanta based digital media solutions company that specializes in graduation and endurance sports photography. If you have graduated from high school or college in the U.S. or run a major marathon throughout Europe, Canada, Mexico and the U.S., chances are we’ve taken your photos. My job allows me the luxury, and sometimes burden, of traveling all over. The downfall to that is “all over” sometimes includes random places in the square states in the middle of the U.S. When I am not on the road for work, I work from home and need noise in the background so I also watch A LOT of TV. There isn’t much on Bravo that doesn’t cross my screen so I am here to admit that I am, in fact, a Real Housewives fanatic…there isn’t a city I don’t watch (except the brief Athens one and Bangkok because they’re not subtitled in English but if they were, watch out). I love pop culture, reality television and all the mainstream shows as well.
