Over in Winter Park, nestled along Fairbanks Avenue, is a hidden gem, The Wine Barn.  The Wine Barn is a wholesale wine market that is open to the public but it is soooo much more than just that.  They also have wood fire oven that they use to create delicious treats…everything from meatballs to wood fired pizza’s to one of our favorites, the bacon love bread.

When you walk in, you think you’re in a traditional wine shop but the price points are wholesale which makes everything a little easier on the wallet.  When you turn the corner, you can see all of the high top tables in what turns out to be the dining room with table service for the wood fired oven I mentioned.  The first time there, we were a little confused as to the process because there’s not really any signage or instructions and it’s a unique idea.

Just so you aren’t confused, let us help you out.  Basically, you walk in and grab a table and the server will bring around water. While you’re perusing the menu, make sure you are looking at the wine box covered walls around you because that is where you are getting your wine from.  That’s right, walk up to any box along the wall or racks scattered about the place and pick out exactly what you want to drink.  Remember those wholesale costs I mentioned, that’s what you’re paying for said bottle that you just picked up and took to your table. How awesome is that idea?!

The Wine Barn also hosts wine tastings and various events throughout the year which are worth checking out when you are looking for something new and fun to do.  We know this will become a staple for you just like it has for us.  There is a very small parking lot though so we’d appreciate some planning on your part to ensure no one needs to park far away.  Wait, who are we kidding…there’s wine so we’ll be in an Uber!

I am consummate workaholic in need of a hobby (hence this site). I am recently married to an amazing man named Andrew who you will see pop up throughout the site and we live in a beautiful townhome that we purchased a couple of years ago in the Baldwin Park area of Orlando, right near downtown which is where we spend most of our time. I have an awesome family and many equally awesome friends who you will also see pop up periodically. I attended UCF where I studied Advertising and Public Relations. On the daily, I am a Territory Director for a Tallahassee and Atlanta based digital media solutions company that specializes in graduation and endurance sports photography. If you have graduated from high school or college in the U.S. or run a major marathon throughout Europe, Canada, Mexico and the U.S., chances are we’ve taken your photos. My job allows me the luxury, and sometimes burden, of traveling all over. The downfall to that is “all over” sometimes includes random places in the square states in the middle of the U.S. When I am not on the road for work, I work from home and need noise in the background so I also watch A LOT of TV. There isn’t much on Bravo that doesn’t cross my screen so I am here to admit that I am, in fact, a Real Housewives fanatic…there isn’t a city I don’t watch (except the brief Athens one and Bangkok because they’re not subtitled in English but if they were, watch out). I love pop culture, reality television and all the mainstream shows as well.
